Note: There is nothing to find at the published coordinates. Instead, you'll first need to apply your searching skills to the simple puzzle.
YAPIDKA, HIPS, AWDTG, BWITO - not a foreign language, but sometimes it might as well be. We're talking geocaching acronyms (and abbreviations to be precise).
After working in government departments, we thought there couldn't possibly be a more acronym rich culture - until we started geocaching that is... We're slowly learning geocaching lingo, but occassionally we're still left scratching our heads over some weird cluster of letters that only those in the know can appreciate.
To solve the puzzle you'll need to test your own fluency in cache talk by finding and following a trail of 15 caching acronyms and abbreviations in the letter grid below. The number grid below will give the cache the coordinates by following the same trail.
There are:
- 8 acronyms/abbreviations of 3 letters
- 5 acronyms/abbreviations of 4 letters
- 1 acronym/abbreviation of 5 letters
- 1 acronym/abbreviation of 6 letters
- The acronyms/abbreviations may read up, down or diagonally, and forwards or backwards, but always begin at one of the letters surrounding the last letter of the previous term
- The acronyms/abbreviations do not share letters or criss cross others
At GZ you'll need your own pen/cil.
Oh and in case you were wondering: YAPIDKA - Yet another park I didn't know about, HIPS - Hidden in plain sight, AWDTG - a/nother white day turned green, BWITO - Bush-whacked in, track out.
Good luck.
