This cache brings you to a spot the general walking public are not aware of. To all intents and purposes it looks like a driveway to other homes but actually links up with lower Hinemoa Street via a pathway that has been in existance since at least 1910. From this spot you can look down onto No.9 and see the home that used to belong to ;an unsuccessful farmer who became successful selling strawberry jam. Hinemoa Street meanders 2km from Auckland's first working wharf to the village at the top. In 1913 Birkenhead was advertiserd as Auckland's first holiday retreat reached by ferry.
