12 Years after Voldemort's defeat, an evil wizard Valhalus threatens to take over York - threatening muggles and wizards alike. He’s been hiding in the dark for over 2000 years! The Ministry Of Magic has recruited you to find and destroy all his Horcruxes before he takes over the city for good!
You’ll have to visit 4 Horcruxes which are virtual stages (Horcruxes can now be digital) to find the final geocache! Visiting these Horcruxes will give you the coordinates for the final Horcrux (Geocache) which is Valhalus’ Pet Snail ‘Patricia’.
How To Find
Please bring a paper and pen to keep a log of the clues to work out Patricia's final location.
Stage One
Visit the posted coordinates where you will find the ‘Hall of the company of Merchant Taylors of York’. Valhalus visited here a long time ago and placed an invisible Horcrux; find out what year the Hall opened in this location to get a clue for Patrcia’s location. The Hall opened in 1A15. Please keep note of the letter.
Stage Two
Visit the Valhalus’ Statue waypoint, here you will find the statue of Constantine the Great which Valhalus made into a Horcrux. In what year was Constantine proclaimed Emperor? B06 (Please keep note of the letter) - this was the year Valhalus made his first Horcrux!
Stage Three
Visit the Valhalus’ Drinking Place waypoint, here you’ll find ‘Ye Olde Starre Inne’ where Valhalus has been caught recruiting Death Eaters to help him take over the city! The Pub opened in what year? 16C4
Stage Four
Visit the Valalagon Alley waypoint. A street with both Wizard and Muggle shops (also known as ‘The Shambles’) - at these coordinates you’ll find out what year the street was rebuilt - Valhalus made this faster with his magical techniques, even setting up a wand store! A notice board will tell you it was rebuilt in 140D.
Stage Five
The final Horcrux ‘Patricia’ is hidden at N 53° 57.5AB W 001° 0C.78D. Work out the coordinates with the numbers you’ve collected throughout York. Place the final coordinates into your waypoints and make your way to the final Horcrux (Geocache).
Once you’ve found the final Geocache, please sign and replace where you found it. Please be discreet when finding the physical stages to stop Muggles (non-geocachers) from being suspicious.
