Thallon Rest area provides picnic tables and toilets for travellers. If you have time, check out the sculptures across the road. They are the first two sculptures, in a planned sculpture walk around the village. The closest is a blacksmith and the second is a baker. It is placed near the original bakery. The old chimneys are still standing. Thallon once had a blacksmith and a bakery. There are plans for future statues; a school teacher, on the original school site and an early pioneer near the railway station. The sculptures were made by Dion Cross from Chinchilla. They are made of old metal tools and are well worth looking at.
