The road to the river is winding and often requires slowing down because the yards/houses lean onto it heavily in a few places. Also frequented by cyclists, trucks, agricultural vehicles like tractors etc. and pedestrians.
There are houses near GZ so be stealthy and act touristy. :)

For some, the fastest connection between Samobor and Zaprešić for it shortens your trip by 17 kilometers, for others a great opportunity to spice up their travel by using a rather rare transport to cross the Sava river - the Medsave ferry is an unusual reminder of some older but practical times. Besides, the Medsave ferry has been used as a gathering place for painters from both Samobor and Zaprešić during June "Ferry Watercolors" event.

Ferryman Ivan Vrančić will drop you off on the other side for a small fee whether you're a cyclist, driver or a simple tourist, offer you a good advice or chat about a specific topic. The ferry drags itself across the river with the help of a steel rope and for a moment, you can take a breather while staring at the scenery.
The ferry works Monday to Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm (18:00), from 7 am to 6 pm on Sundays and during the summer it prolongs it's ride because of the longer sunlight time. It only doesn't work if the water level is too high.

Some more fun facts:
* All ferrymen's surnames are Vrančić, though they are not related! Also, they are all men although it used to be a women's job.
* In the 70's, Tito's Relay (Štafeta mladosti) also used the ferry!
* The ferry was also the location of many cult TV shows like Kuda idu divlje svinje, Smogovci,...
