One of my bi-monthly breakfast meetings, all held within a mile or two of the River Erewash, so some in Nottinghamshire and some in Derbyshire.
This one is next to the former Derby Canal, which joined the Erewash Canal at Sandiacre. The canal cottages on Hopwell Road have been recently restored, and incorporated into the project is a cafe and a meeting room owned by the Derby and Sandiacre Canal Trust. The Canal Cottage Cafe only opened in May 2022 - its postcode is DE72 3PE
The cafe serves food and drink, but no purchase is necessary. If the weather is good, we will probably grab the tables outside. Please book Will Attend logs, so I can give the cafe some idea as to numbers.
Most of the parking next to the cottage is restricted to residents only - however, parking on Hopwell Road itself is fine.
At my last event, we had a puzzle solving theme. Most people just came for the event, but a handful of attendees had lots of fun sharing ideas and tips for puzzles which had been troubling them. So although I am not officially saying the same for this one, if there is a puzzle you would like some help with please come prepared with details of it and hopefully someone may be able to help.
