Cool Cow Cachers Sunrise CITO - May 2022 Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

Cool Cow Cachers: Our June CITO event has been published so it is time to archive May. Thank you to everyone for coming out in spite of the threat of rain. We really enjoyed seeing so many new and young faces in the crowd. While this may not have been the largest of hauls, we gave back to our community and that is what it is all about!

We hope to see you all in a couple of weeks,

Kevin & Erika

Geocache Description:

28 May 2022, 08:00 - 11:00

Join us on Saturday May 28th from 8:00 AM to 11:00AM at Point Defiance Park as the Cool Cow Cachers host our third CITO event of 2022!

For our May CITO, we will be visiting the crown jewel of Tacoma parks, Point Defiance Park. We'll meet at the picnic shelter in the Rhododendron Garden and fan out throughout the park from there. As always, we'll provide hot beverages and morning treats to give you a little kickstart. When submitting your "Will Attend" log, please include your favorite morning treat so we know what to bring to satisfy the masses. We'll provide trash bags and some grabbers but if you have your own, by all means, bring them.

From the Rhododendron Garden, we can disperse to all parts of the park. We can head south to the inner trails between the Rhododendron Gardens and the Zoo, west towards Fort Nisqually and the Dog Park, or even north into the vehicle free reaches of The Point. Nothing is off-limits with the exception of the Owens Beach area which is still closed for renovations.

Please note that now that we are into the longer days of late Spring, we have returned to an 8:00 AM start time. Also, since this is a large area to cover, we will be extending the event to three hours to allow everyone time to spread out into the park and return before the event ends.

CITO can happen on every geocaching adventure, not just during events! Pick up trash that you see on the trail. Clean up the area around each geocache. These small acts make a huge difference.

This event is being hosted by a WSGA member. If you are a geocacher in the state of Washington, please consider joining Washington State Geocaching Association. See the WSGA website for details.
