Cache is only available Mon-Fri, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm when the Visitor Center is open. Cache is unavailable on Sundays and holidays. No fee or purchase is required and interaction with the Visitor Center Staff and Volunteers is not needed. If you have questions about New Braunfels, however, the Visitor Center folks give a good example of New Braunfels Gemütlichkeit.
At the given coordinates, you should be able to find numbers to your right and to your left.
From the stone indicating when the Center was established, note the last number of the year.
This is digit A.
From the number on the post to your left, note the top number.
This is digit B.
From the number on the post to your left, note the bottom number.
This is digit C.
After you have identified the necessary numbers, in Letterbox tradition, follow these directions to get to the cache:
Enter the Visitors’ Center and look for the wall map of New Braunfels. While facing the map, look to your right and locate the letterbox cache masquerading as an item often seen in this town with a German heritage.
The numbers you noted at the first coordinates are the combination to get into the geocache. Enter the numbers in the order of A, B, C in the center row, lined up with the scratch mark.
Inside the container you will find a plunger style stamp with one of New Braunfels' common symbols. Use your personal stamp or draw a picture with your log; if you want, take a card to mark with this letterbox's stamp. Be sure to leave the plunger style stamp! It stays with the ---letterbox and is NOT a trade item or collectable.
