The Civilian Conservation Corps. This was known as the CCC Camp, a beautiful park was located just across the washed out bridge. Lots of camping and picnics were held here. There was two large ponds located just up the trail about 1/2 mile. They both where build by the men the worked the camp.. This was my playground as a child. Announced at F.D.R.’s inaugural on March 4, 1933, the CCC was created by executive order on April 5, 1933. With its extraordinary promise to restore millions of acres of devastated forests and other exhausted public lands, it was crafted to provide temporary work and training for young men and immediate relief from the catastrophic effects of the Great Depression on their families.
The city of Troys water works is a gorgeous walk on up the draw. There is two more caches to be found on this trail. There is a beautiful stream that runs right by the road and lots of large pine trees so it's a very cool enjoyable journey. So peaceful!!
