This is a regular size cache hidden just off of the Lakeview Ext. Trail.  Park at the Welcome Kiosk near the Route 82 entrance.  After finding LT-2, head back downhill and take a grassy trail to the left.  This will bring you over towards the lake and the Lake View Ext. trail.  There is a bench with a nice view of the lake just south of this hide. You are looking for a plastic lock-n-lock container.

The bedrock on the east side of Lake Taghkanic consists of Slate, phyllite, schist, and metagraywacke.  The Walloomsac Formation dates to the Middle Ordivician geologic age.  This formation covers 25% of Columbia County.  The bedrock west side of Lake Taghkanic consistes of Shale, argillite, and quartzite.  The Elizaville Formation dates to the Cambrian-Ordivician geologic age.  This formation covers 13% of Columbia County.
