West Midlands 2022

Marchington Station

Marchington Station used to be here. It was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway in 1848 and in 1862 the Great Northern Railway started using it as well for trains between Stafford and Grantham. It was closed in 1958 and the station building converted into a private house (the residents know about this geocache). The platforms are still present to the left of the crossing gate (see photo).
