Geocache Description:

While fishing for CRAPPIE behind the cemetery of Milford, KS, one early morning in May 2022, decided to place a geocache in probably one of the most popular fishing spots in Geary County (there used to be a cache placed very close by, but was eventually archived). Fishing for crappie from mid-March to mid-May behind the Milford, KS, cemetery is one of the "hidden secrets" of the local area. Come here anytime of the day during crappie season and you are pretty much guaranteed to go home with quite a few fish. I have come here numerous times and have watched the sun rise here during windy days, rainy days, cold days, and all kinds of days in between. Other fish that can be caught from this location include, but not limited to: Wiper, White Bass, Walleye, Catfish of all kinds, Bluegill, Large/Small Mouth Bass, Drum, and so on. Nice view of Milford Lake from this spot & of the town itself.

As for the cache location. There is a parking area available. If the parking lot is full, you can park along the road OR park up by the cemetery and do a short hike to cache location. Also, BE WARNED: due to NO facilities of any kind at this location, the immediate area leading to the cache location AND where the cache is located has become quite the spot to perform a #2 - IF you know what I mean!!!!!! So, be mindful of where you step or you just may plant your shoes into something that does not smell too pleasant no matter the time of year (and also the justification for the "skull/crossbones" icon). So, if you think about it - this location could be known as a CRAPPY spot as well!!! HA-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!! (yeah, I know - NOT that funny).

Anyway, about the cache. Container is something that resembles what can be used for fishing with a secondary container placed inside to help protect the log from the elements (Yep - am aware of that small hole). After your surfaced-laid "doo-doo dance", coordinates should place you relatively close to cache location. It is up to you, the wiley geocacher that you think you are, to locate that thing. Also, throughout the warm weather months, this parking area does become quite busy with people wanting to try their luck at fishing, so STEALTH may come in handy.

In order to get to this location, travel north/south on US HWY 77 until you come to the intersection with Cemetery Road roughly 1 mile north of the town of Milford, KS. Turn west onto Cemetery Road and continue following the well maintained hard-top road. The road will CURVE to the south in about a 1/2 mile or so (cemetery should be on your LEFT). Eventually the hard-top road will become gravel and will intersect with another gravel road to the west (ONLY road there). Follow this road roughly 1/4 mile or so to the parking area coordinates (IF you enter the water, then you went just a bit too far west). Park vehicle and commence searching keeping in mind the "doo-doo dance" that you may have to accomplish before getting to cache location. This may be an easy find for some; and this may be a tougher find for others. Hope visitors enjoy the search for this cache!!
