大須観音は、日本三大観音の１つとも言われています。
1892年（明治25年）に大須の大火により本堂や五重塔などが焼失、その後再建されたものの、1945年に戦火により再度焼失しました。
再建は資金難により遅れましたが、1970年に鉄筋コンクリート製で再建を果たしました。
また現存する最古の古事記の写本（1372年）が保管されています。
Osu Kannon is also known as one of the three major kannon in Japan.
In 1892, the main hall, five-story pagoda, and other structures were destroyed by fire in the Great Osu Fire, and although they were later rebuilt, they were destroyed again by war in 1945.
Rebuilding was delayed due to financial difficulties, but was completed in 1970 using reinforced concrete.
