Situata ai piedi del Monte Pisano, la Valgraziosa, anticamente chiamata Valle Buia, è interamente compresa nel comune di Calci, in provincia di Pisa, ed è formata dal torrente Zambra. Sin dal Medioevo questa zona è stata al centro di un grande fermento religioso, la tradizione vuole che qui abbiano soggiornato San Bernardo di Chiaravalle, San Gugliemo di Malavalle, e forse anche Sant'Agostino. Il monumento più noto è la Certosa, ma in generale tutto il territorio è ricco di edifici religiosi più o meno grandi e antichi.
Ho pensato di dedicare la mia terza Adventure Lab a Calci e alle sue frazioni, per farvi conoscere un luogo di particolare bellezza a due passi da Pisa.

Located at the foot of Monte Pisano, the Valgraziosa (Gracious Valley), formerly called Valle Buia (Dark Valley), is entirely included in the municipality of Calci, in the province of Pisa, and is formed by the Zambra stream. Since the Middle Ages this area has been at the center of a great religious ferment, tradition has it that Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, Saint William of Maleval, and perhaps even Saint Augustine have stayed here. The best known monument is the Charterhouse, but in general the whole territory is full of more or less large and ancient religious buildings.
