Situated in historic Cazenovia, Lorenzo State Historic Site is the 1807 Federal style home of John Lincklaen, Holland Land Company agent and founder of Cazenovia. Lorenzo was continually occupied by the Lincklaen/Ledyard family until the property and contents were conveyed to New York State in 1968. It was then Refurbished and the property was later officially announced as a State Park. Hundreds of people come every year to tour the Lorenzo grounds, view the lake and take photos. While you are here enjoying these caches, be sure to check out all that this wonderful park has to offer.
This cache is a small container hidden near the Rippleton 1 room schoolhouse and overlaps nicely with the Wherigo that’s also located at this park. The schoolhouse is no longer in use and can be visited freely while the park is in use. This schoolhouse is also waymarked, and you can log it on Waymarking.com under the “1 room schoolhouse” category. Please use stealth while retrieving the Letterbox. The stamp inside the cache IS NOT for trade, and we ask you to leave it in there for the next cacher. Please replace exactly as you found it.
