Geocache Description:

AIR

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. There are stories about the old days, a time of peace long ago, when the four nations lived together in harmony. But one day that changed, and now the nations are divided. The world is in search of adventurers that can bring balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. Will you be among them?

Inspiration

This cache is inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender, an Emmy award-winning animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon, first airing on February 21, 2005. It is one of our favorite shows to watch together as a family. In the world of Avatar, some people have the ability to "bend" or manipulate elements. The bending arts are based on the four classical elements, water, earth, fire, and air. Only the Avatar has the ability to practice all bending arts.

This cache represents a region significant to one of the four nations.

Western Air Temple

The Western Air Temple is one of the original temples of the Air Nomads. In the animated series, the temple is situated underneath the edge of a cliff. The spires give the appearance of having been built upside-down, and because of that, the temple is hidden from the passerby. Its design allows wind to flow into even the deepest chambers, which makes the Air Nomads feel at home.

The Cache

The cache is a rectangular Lock’n Lock container. It is just next to the marked trail, a few metres south of where the Gondola Trail and Hail Mary Trail intersect. It is roughly 2 km from the parking lot of Fraser River Heritage Park, depending on which trail you take. It is a moderate climb up Hail Mary Trail from the East Mission Heritage Greenway. Most kids can probably, but be careful in slippery and wet conditions.

Please take care when removing and replacing the lid, and please replace the cache as you found it for others to enjoy.

This was submitted for the 2022 Fraser Valley Cache Bash (FVCB), an annual event that is focused on refreshing the geocaching gameboard. http://fraservalleycachebash.brilang.com/
