How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Geocaching is full of statistics. So many in fact that even a veteran cacher will be kept busy with a goal.

Found days, Loops, Streaks, FTF's, Souvenirs, D/T (Fizzy) Grid, Jasmer Months, The Trifecta, Ape, Earthcache Master, Cache Owner, Badges and Belts to name a few.

I have found Challenge Caches is one way to focus on a set goal while caching.

This is a challenge cache. The cache IS at the posted coordinates, You may sign the log at anytime but to claim a find you must have met the requirements of the challenge!

To qualify for this challenge you must complete at least one line of this bingo card with your geocaching statistics. The aim is to acknowledge some milestones reached by a well-rounded and experienced geocacher.

The Challenge Requirements

  • You must have achieved 5 geocaching milestones in any one straight line.
  • The lines may be vertical, horizontal or diagonal.

The Challenge Qualification

  • With your "Found" log you must mention which specific line you are claiming as completed (e.g. second row, or fourth column). Ideally attach an image with your completed scorecard if you're able to. There is generally no need to list individual caches or components that make up your achievements in that line.
  • It must be possible to verify your qualifying statistics through the challenge checker. Any log where a finder's statistics do not meet the requirements will be deleted.

The Challenge Allowances

  • For the "Socializer - 15 events" milestone you may include any event you have attended, including Mega, CITO and  Community Celebration events.
  • Except where specifically mentioned the caches may have been found anywhere in the world.
  • While some milestones are based on travel statistics, the bingo card has several lines which can be completed without leaving the state of Queensland
  • There is no date restriction - the caches may have been found before publication of this challenge.
  • A cache may be used for more than 1 block within a line, e.g. an earthcache counted for the "50 earthcaches" milestone could also be part of the "100 day streak" milestone.
  • You may visit the cache anytime, sign the physical logbook, trade trackables and log "write note", but you may not claim a find online until you have met the requirements of the challenge.

An example

If we TeamJLBL mark off the statistics from our geocaching profile (at the time of placing, May 2022), our card looks like this, so we would qualify with the fouth row. As at 10/10/2024 TeamJLBL has Bingo Blackout.

The hide and terrain are more like a 1.5/2 but due to the requirements of the challenge this is definitely a 5/5.

Will anyone be able to claim ‘Bingo Blackout’? - all 25 squares covered If you do please say so in your log.
