The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Please don’t even think about looking for anything at the posted coordinates.
Most geocachers like to measure distances in metres or feet but I prefer to use bennykidds instead. What is a bennykidd? Well, the number of metres in 1 bennykidd is the bennykidd number divided by a million. So, if someone tells you that their cache is B bennykidds from their house, then to calculate the distance in metres, simply take the bennykidd number, divide by 1000000 and then multiply by B. Most seasoned cachers don’t have to do this since they instinctively know the length of 1 bennykidd.
There is also a bennykidd angle measure. In degrees, one bennykidd angle measure is the bennykidd number divided by one million. So, for example, if someone tells you that their cache can be found by projecting from their home coordinates B bennykidds at a bearing of b bennykidds, then finding its location is easy. First take the bennykidd number and divide it by a million. B times this number is the distance in metres and b times this number is the bearing in degrees. See, easy peasy.
To find the location of this cache, all you have to do is project from the posted coordinates a distance of 1852.989 bennykidds at a bearing of 135.4256 bennykidds.
If you don’t know where to start, just remember that bennykidd not only hides lots of caches, but he has found lots of caches, too.
This cache was hidden for the SCAR event, and should not be sought out until after 5:30 pm on May 27th. Anyone who looks for the cache before that time will suffer the wrath of perturbed local geocachers. This might involve glaring, a vigorous shaking of the head, and maybe even a tsk tsk or two. Someone from the SAGA executive might even take you aside for a stern talking to. You really don’t want to experience that!
