Welcome to the 25thcache in the series of Ambarvale Glen Alpine And Surrounds. A series of simple caches in the small parks in the area. The cache is a micro so please BYOP. Stealth is required as it in an extremely busy area out in the open. This hide will certainly test your stealth ingenuity!
This hide has me straying away from the original theme of this series, as I felt it was important to keep alive the memory of something that provided a great deal of entertainment in the local community in its early days, but was perhaps built a little too early, as it eventually could not support itself due to the area still being in the develop stage.
The Park was opened on 22nd October 1983, and planned to expand. But attendance never lived up to its expectation, and the park finally closed 10th April 1988. Many of the slides were then sent to other areas in NSW.
Although this is not the exact location, it gives an idea of its position, as the retirement community housing across the road from here now occupies what was once the location of the park.
I would like to acknowledge that this is a replacement of the now archived cache that was previously managed by the Booos, who I contacted prior to placing this replacement hide.
