About SideTracked
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveler, but anyone else can go and find it too. These are cache-and-dashes for public transport users, which can be found at or near train stations, ex-train stations or near miniature railways. There are currently over 4,500 SideTracked caches in more than 30 countries around the world. More information can be found on the SideTracked series website.
We found several SideTracked caches on a recent visit to the UK and noticed that there aren't many in the US yet, probably because of our woefully inadequate public transportation system. We decided to adopt the concept in our local area and hopefully it will spread.
About This Station
Corona–West is a Metrolink station in west Corona, California, on the 91 Line and Inland Empire–Orange County Line. It opened on Oct 2, 1995. Thirty-five Metrolink trains serve the station on weekdays. It is also the western terminus of the Riverside Transit Agency Route 1 bus, which is free for passengers who hold a valid Metrolink ticket or pass, although more plentiful transit connections exist at the Corona–North Main station. The Orange County Transportation Authority also offers westbound bus transit connections.
About This Cache
This cache is accessible only from the sidewalk on the bridge overlooking the tracks! Do not enter the tracks down below!
The cache is just off Metrolink property, per SideTracked guidlines. You shouldn't have any trouble grabbing it if you have 5-10 minutes to spare before your train arrives. You're looking for an Altoids tin.
