Misty Elizabeth May-Treanor is a retired American professional beach volleyball player. She is a three-time Olympic gold medalist (2004, 2008, 2012)
At Long Beach City College, Misty May-Treanor enters her fourth year as the head coach for the indoor women's volleyball team and women's beach volleyball team in the 2019-20 season.
In the 2018-19 season, May-Treanor led her team to a 22-4 overall record and a 7-1 conference record earning first place in conference play.
May-Treanor led the Vikings’ indoor team to a 79-22 overall record and 34-2 in the South Coast Conference. The Vikings made the playoffs every year under May-Treanor and won a pair of conference titles. She was the SCC Coach of the Year twice.
On the beach, May-Trenor led the Vikings to a 37-13 overall record, 16-4 in conference.
“Every challenge Misty has had in life she has met and excelled,” Interim Athletics Director Bill Husak said in a statement. “She was a champion indoor and beach volleyball player, and Olympian. She came to LBCC and proved that she was also an outstanding teacher and coach of volleyball.
Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor has stepped down as Director of Volleyball Operations and coach at Long Beach City College, in 2020.
