Geocache Description:

West Midlands 2022

Apedale is a 454 acre country park. Formerly an open cast mine, the area has now been turned into this vast country park, with a mix of open areas and woodland. With varied terrain, and some wide, hardstanding paths the park provides trails for everyone. The lower visitors’ centre includes a café, mine tours and a steam train, whilst the upper visitors’ centre focusses on the environment.

Some areas of Apedale are conservation areas, other areas are liable to sudden ground movement because of the mine workings, therefore it is imperative that you do not cross any fences, or stray from the paths.

Across Apedale there are various small artworks, featuring one metal plaque on a vertical wooden pillar, or more than one plaque on diagonal pillars, with a ball on the top. For this multi cache you need too look at the artwork at the published coords to get the information needed for the final.

A – How many plaques?

B – How many spokes on the wheel? (Include the lines on the letter A)

C – There is an animal on the ball. How many letters in the name of the animal?

The cache can be found at: N53 01.(C-A) B A W002 15.(C+A)(A*2)(B-C)

Add 8 to the north coords, and subtract 31 from the west coords
