Sonnenstrand
Willkommen am kilometerlangen Sandstrand zwischen den Seebädern Hohe Düne und Markgrafenheide, einst altehrwürdiges Fischerdorf und heute beide Ortsteile Rostocks. Fühle Dich eingeladen zu einem Spaziergang am Wasser und lass' Dich verzaubern durch einen Ausblick auf herrliche Sonnenauf- und -untergänge über der Ostsee. Nicht ganz so dicht gedrängt ein wunderbarer Platz zum Baden und Windsurfen bei ausgezeichneter Wasserqualität, zum Schiffe gucken und in der Sonne brutzeln. Oder nur zum kurz Mal Stoppen in der Vorbeifahrt auf dem Drahtesel und nach einem Logbuch suchen...
Weiter westwärts locken Warnemünde und Rostock mit urbanem Trubel, ostwärts ruht die Rostocker Heide mit Mooren und Wäldern. Beide einen Besuch wert, aber Ruhe und Spaß am Strand dürfen nicht fehlen. Die findet man hier etwas abseits der touristischen Hotspots eigentlich immer. Vielleicht hältst Du auch nur zu einer kleinen Schatzsuch-Pause auf Radtour die Küste entlang. Die Marine sichert jedenfalls den Frieden vor Ort nach Süden weiträumig ab (ein Gedenkstein an der Location weist auch auf unrühmliche Momente der Geschichte des Ortes hin), sodass hier, fernab von allem, kaum etwas los ist und Du die Ruhe genießen kannst. Nur Obacht beim Überqueren der Straße! ;-)
Vor Ort gesucht wird ein handliches und gut gekennzeichnetes Behältnis am Strandaufgang 6, das das Gästebuch für Deinen Besuch am Sonnenstrand enthält. Sicherheitshalber ist auch ein Kuli für die Vergesslichen hinterlassen (bitte nicht auch wieder zu hinterlassen vergessen ;-). Es ist sicher auch Platz für ein, zwei kleine Coins oder TBs auf der Suche nach neuen Anhaltern. Nach dem Besuch bitte alles wieder vor flüchtigen Blicken tarnen. Doll muggelig ist es hier selten, eher solltest Du Dich auf gierige Blicke (und Stiche) anderer Geocacher-Plagegeister einstellen.
Bei Anreise mit dem Auto die ausgewiesenen Parkplätze nutzen, dort gibt es auch Toiletten und eine kleine Verpflegung. Am Zielpunkt gibt es keine Parkmöglichkeiten! Dorthin führt aber ein breiter Rad- und Gehweg und ein noch viel breiterer Sandstrand, von den Parkplätzen aus ist es Pi mal Daumen ein Kilometer. Für radlose Gehfaule steht extra eingerichtet eine Bushaltestelle ("Strand") am Geocache bereit, die regelmäßig Anbindung (Linien 17 und 18) an die Parkplätze und die Fähre nach Rostock hat. Für die Radler: am Gedenkstein links bzw. rechts ab, ein Fahrradständer steht im Zielgebiet extra bereit.

Sunny Beach
Welcome to the kilometres long golden beach between the seaside resort of Hohe Düne and the fishermen's village of Markgrafenheide. Feel invited to take a walk along the water's edge and be enchanted by a view of magnificent sunrises and sunsets over the Baltic Sea. Not quite so crowded, this is a wonderful place for swimming and windsurfing in excellent water quality, for watching ships and relaxing in the sun. Or just to stop for a short while on your bike and look for a logbook...
Further west, Warnemünde and Rostock entice with urban hustle and bustle, eastwards the Rostock Heathland 'rests' with moors and forests. Both are worth a visit, but peace and quiet and fun on the beach are not to be missed. You can always find that here, a little away from the tourist hotspots. The navy secures the peace on site to the south over a wide area (a memorial stone at the location also points to inglorious moments in the history of the place), so there is hardly anything going on here, far away from everything.
On site, look for a handy and well-marked box at beach entrance Nr. 6 that contains the guest book for your visit to Sunny Beach. For safety's sake, a pen is also left for the forgetful (please don't forget to leave it again ;-). There is certainly also room for one or two small TBs in search of new hangers-on. After the visit, camouflage everything again from fleeting glances.
If you arrive by car, use the designated parking areas, where there are also toilets and a snack bar. There is no parking at the finishing point! However, there is a wide cycle path and footpath leading there, and it is a kilometre from the car parks. For those who are lazy about walking, there is a bus stop ("Strand") at the geocache with regular connections (lines 17 and 18) to the car parks and the ferry to Rostock. For cyclists: turn left or right at the memorial stone, a bicycle stand is available in the target area.
