Cavendish Memorial Well
A multi-cache needs you to collect numeric clues to work out where the geocache really is. Work out the numbers from the info board, use the formula to get the final coordinates, and use your app's 'add waypoint' feature to plug the numbers in.
This well is one of 15 that were dotted around the village and used until the 1920s. The well cover is the bit that's a memorial to Captain the Hon. Frederick Cavendish.
Freddie was the fifth son of Richard Cavendish, the 2nd Baron Waterpark, and was the longest-lived of his siblings. His younger brother had been the Vicar of Doveridge, and Freddie would have lived at the family owned Doveridge Hall, demolished in 1938. Admire the ancient well, the old covering, and the garden, which was laid out by the local WI for European Conservation Year, 1970.
Look at the memorial plaques inside the well head to answer the questions and work out where the geocache is. It really isn't very far at all...
