The M2A2 105 millimetre howitzer is a general purpose, towed, light field artillery weapon which consists of a barrel, recoil mechanism and carriage. The M2A2 howitzer provided outstanding service for over 40 years. The gun was the standard artillery weapon used by most field regiments of the Royal Australian Artillery during the Vietnam conflict. The M2A2 howitzer fires 105mm high explosive semi-fixed ammunition and has a maximum range of 11,270m.
