Twentse landschap


Het Twentse landschap is adembenemend mooi. Van uniek natuurgebied tot uitgestrekt veengebied. Terug in de tijd; ooit wandelden hier de mammoet, de wolharige neushoorn en het laatste reuzenhert. Sterker nog, ooit was dit gebied zee, getuige de walvis- en haaientanden die af en toe nog gevonden worden. Nu is het unieke Twentse land een bonte verzameling van bijzondere landschapselementen. Zin in bos, heide, weide, beekjes en bronnen? Twente heeft het allemaal!






The Twente landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. From unique nature reserve to extensive peat areas. Back in time; the mammoth, the woolly rhinoceros and the last giant deer even walked here. In fact, once this area was sea, witness the whale and shark teeth that are still found here today. Now the unique Twente country is a colorful collection of special landscape elements. Forest, heath, meadow, streams and springs. Twente has it all!




Rond het Hondenven
Het Hondenven op landgoed Schultenwolde is een meertje gelegen ten westen van Tubbergen in de Nederlandse landstreek Twente. Het meer is waarschijnlijk ontstaan als een pingoruïne of ijskernheuvel.

Bij nat weer kan het pad erg drassig zijn. Op sommige plaatsen is het pad heel smal.

The Hondenven on the Schultenwolde estate is a small lake located west of Tubbergen in the Dutch region of Twente. The lake probably originated as a pingo ruin or ice core mound.


In wet weather, the trail can be very swampy. At some places the path is very narrow.
