We love living in St Leonards; it is a relatively quiet seaside town on the Bellarine Peninsula which is sedate during winter and lively when the sun comes out.
With the colder and windier weather, people seem less inclined to make the few steps necessary to place rubbish in the bin, and also, once rubbish is placed in the bin, it can often blow out.
A considerable volume of rubbish makes its way into Port Phillip Bay at this time of year, which can have severe consequences for the wildlife, both in the water and in the air.
We would love you to join us and help clean up the foreshore area near the Dan Dan Nook Playground and St Leonards Pier. We will be picking up rubbish between the St Leonards Pier car park and the Tennis Court car park.
Please meet at the posted coordinates to grab a garbage bag and be assigned an area. All rubbish will need to be returned to the St Leonards car park for removal.
Please bring your gloves and pick up tools if required.
