This cache is in the Frankie Pace Park, a new park dedicated in 2022 that connects Pittsburgh's Hill District with Downtown. It was built as a "cap" over I-579 and has many neat features. The theme was to right an injustice in the 1950s when the highway interchange was built, cutting the Hill District off from Pittsburgh. It features historical information about the Hill, a historically black neighborhood, and it's residents. It is named for Frankie Pace, who owned Pace Music Store and was head of the Hill District Community Council. In addition to having information about the history of the Hill District, the park also features several innovative ways to deal with storm water run-off and keep it from immediately passing into Pittsburgh's waterways, instead filtering through the park and it's gardens.
