I don't know the story behind these particular crosses, but they immediately reminded me of a country song I have heard many times.......
A song recorded by Randy Travis in November 2002 which became his 16th and final Number One hit.
'Three Wooden Crosses' went on to be named Song of the Year in 2003 by the Country Music Association.
Three Wooden Crosses tells the tale of 4 travelers on a midnight bus to Mexico, each traveler with their own reasons for going. The driver missed a stop sign and a terrible wreck ensues, with three of the four travelers not making it. The preacher, one of the four travelers, places a blood stained bible into the hands of another. In a twist to the story that took me HOURS of listening to grasp, it was a surprise to figure out who received the bible, survived the wreck and her future son became a preacher telling the tale. But why spoil endings, you'll have to listen to the song to decipher that for yourself.

THERE ARE THREE WOODEN CROSSES ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HGHWAY
WHY THERE'S NOT FOUR OF THEM, HEAVEN ONLY KNOWS
I GUESS IT'S NOT WHAT YOU TAKE, WHEN YOU LEAVE THIS WORLD BEHIND YOU
IT'S WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND YOU WHEN YOU GO.
We may never know the reasons behind why certain events happen the way they do. In the meantime:
TAKE the time to live life to its fullest and LEAVE lots of memories for loved ones and friends. Keep the memories alive by re-telling the stories.
STICKING with the theme of THREES on this 3 day weekend hide fest, look low behind the triple yucca for what you seek.
Room for small SWAG and small travelers; BYOP to be safe.
