Please join us for a socially distanced gathering of local geocachers. We will meet up at the posted coordinates which is the parking lot for Rainbow Reservoir State Boat Launch. in WIndsor CT.
This State Boat Launch you can either FISH or BOAT. No swimming, picnicking, or other activiities. If you are going to FISH then you will need fishing gear and a CT fishing license. If you are going to BOAT then you need some type of watercraft AND comply with the CT Boating Rules.
Bring your canoe, SUP, kayak, row boat, sail boat, power boat or jet ski if you plan to BOAT. Bring your fishing gear if you want to fish.
If you don't have a watercraft you may be able to try out one that others have brought. If you plan to boat be sure you have a complete change of clothes in your car. While falling into the water is a low probability it is always possible. If you have a PFD (life jacket) bring it. The SoccerDogs will be bringing extra life jackets. We will be bringing a kayak, a SUP, and a rowboat that you can take out for a short excursion.
If you plan to attend the event please post a "will attend" log and incude the number of people in your group. It is unlikely that we will have too many attendees based on recent CCC events however we need to be prepared to control the numbers. Please wear a mask when close to other people. A logbook will be available to sign and a meet-and-greet is planned where Travel Bugs can be dropped off or exchanged.
The Central Connecticut Cacher’s Night Out is normally an evening gathering on the second Tuesday of every month (pre Covid). We love to meet those that are new or interested in this great hobby! Let us know if this is your first event as we'd like to get acquainted. This event features new or rotating hosts every month, and changing locations. If you have an interest in hosting, please contact Katydid and Miles Stone (KD&MS). As host, you’ll arrange a location; get the coordinates; and copy and paste the event page and resubmit. Locations should be kid friendly, have no admission fee, and be within the Central Connecticut/Greater Hartford area. Cachers from outside of the area are also encouraged to host, but we do ask that the event itself be held in the central CT area.
