Geocache Description:

Up until a few years ago, I had absolutely no idea there was a walkway tunnel underneath the Airport.  I'd obliviously driven past the tunnel hundreds of times.  Then my son started plane spotting at the Western side of the airport and I discovered the tunnel.  The Western end is "apparently" the best location for spotting planes (according to 100's of Wellington Plane spotters).  There's a spotting seat at the western end of the tunnel in a grassed area where you will often see people taking photos and videos of aircraft taking off and landing.

Recently, the tunnel has had a very cool paint mural upgrade at each end that features all kind of cool sea creatures and ships and divers etc.

The artwork is very cool.  Everyone needs to see it, and this is the reason I've hidden a cache here.

The Cache is a medium small plastic clip container.   This is a replacement of one that went missing.

When hidden, the cache had a log book, pencils, pencil sharpener, some a couple of trinket prizes.

Please watch out for muggles and only attempt to retrive or replace the cache when muggles are out of sight.  Please replace the cache and it's hiding materials as found.

One of my particular favourite art drawings outside the tunnel is this fabulous scallop shell.

You dont often find scallop shells on Wellington Beaches, but apparently there are a few large beds of them out near Somes Island.  I think the scallop shell is awesome !  It symbolises the sea and everything to do with beaches.  Everyone should check it out !

Ask anyone to draw a picture of a sea shell, and the scallop shell (most often) is the one that they will draw !

Enjoy this hunt !
