Two Colorado State Troopers are commiserating at the end of their longest day. Here is their conversation:
Trooper Leinen: “You on accidents again?”
Trooper DeHerrera: “Yes, sir, on I-70. You?”
Trooper Leinen: “I had I-25. Seemed like all the vehicles were magnets today. Couldn’t stay away from each other. Five crashes with semis. First one was carrying Flammable Solids. Then, another semi hit a wall, spilling Miscellaneous Hazardous Materials. It took four hours to clean up! The next accident was a minor fender bender involving a semi carrying Corrosive Substances. Thankfully, no leaks! But then my day took a turn for the worse. A rig carrying Oxidizing Substances crashed less than a mile from a brand new Peterbuilt carrying Gases. These new ten hour shifts are killing me.”
Trooper DeHerrera: I know what you mean. Yesterday the first half of my shift was an accident with a trucker carrying Radioactive Materials. Takes a while to make sure everyone is safe. While working on that one I stacked up the next, a rig carrying Oxidizing Substances. It was minor, so I took notes, cited, and headed off to the next. A semi carrying Miscellaneous Hazardous Materials. By then my day seemed to have disappeared. The next truck had no leaks - good thing because it was carrying Flammable Liquids. I was headed into the Troop when I had to stop for another crash with Gases. More OT. I can’t wait for vacation.”
Trooper Leinen: “Driving to Boulder in your Subaru again?”
Trooper DeHerrea: “Very funny. Good luck with your Jeep. Is it in the shop again?”
Trooper Leinen: “See you tomorrow.”
