Runninggirl1972 and I walked this track and really enjoyed it. So much so that we decided the track needed another cache placed along it, just to further tempt those mulling over this walk as a day trip opportunity.
Read the information boards at the bottom before heading up, if you can. The history here is quite interesting. What you are looking at, at the cache location, is the penstock which channels the water from the race down to the hydro station. The penstock is a 450mm pipe that drops water 107 metres down to the powerhouse, creating 152 pounds per square inch (psi) of water pressure to turn the turbine.
