This postcard from 1905 shows the original bridge when it was new, having been first built in 1901. You can see Doveridge Hall in the background.
The Hall was built in 1769 and demolished by the Baron Waterpark in 1938. The first bridge collapsed in 1946 while a group of school children were crossing, and was later rebuilt.
