Geocache Description:

This cache is with the 2022 Clinton County Traffic Safety Geo Trail. Pick up a CCTS Geo Trail Passport at Clinton County Visitors Bureau (located at 212 N. Jay St., Lock Haven, PA 17745) to collect 20 keyword(s) that are found under the lid of each cache. Once you've found all the caches and recorded all the keywords, return to Clinton County Visitors Bureau to redeem for your 2022 CCTS geocoin.

NOTE: Please leave the cache exactly how you found it, so that it is hidden for the next cacher.

This cache is placed a short distance from the Lock Haven exit of Interstate 80. Here you will learn that fireworks aren’t just for the 4th of July anymore. This location is also all about bright colors both in the sky and on land. Did you know that wearing bright colors is part of being a safe pedestrian? Other pedestrian safety tips include: only cross at crosswalks, do not cross between parked cars, look left/right/left again and keep looking, always obey traffic signs and signals. watch for turning vehicles at intersections, and on streets with multiple lanes each direction be aware of what drivers in both near lanes are doing (if one driver is allowing you to cross the other may not see you).

This area also marks the entrance to the Clinton County Fairgrounds, which hosts many activities, including the annual county fair in late July/early August, Amish-sponsored auctions, an annual Hooskow Chainsaw Carver’s Festival in October, the Wine in the Wilds wine tasting festival in April, animal shows, and more.
