The days of beauty pageants are fading slowing but still do exist. Oddly enough, I couldn't find any information on the competition for "Miss Ottawa" specifically but there are variations on the title.
The competition and title was important enough in its day to warrant the naming of a neighbouring street by either the former City of Gloucester before it was amalgamated into the City of Ottawa in 2001.
There's plenty of parking at GZ but stealth is still advised.
