Welcome to Butler Haynes Park, part of the Hollis Park District! The Hollis Park District was founded in 1970, and is located in Southwestern Peoria County. Butler Haynes Park doesn’t quite look like the yellow brick road but it will take you to the land of OZ. Butler Haynes Park is home to the annual OZ Festival which started in 2011, after the Wizard of Oz Garden was created.
This cache is part of the course created by Girl Scout Troop 4031 for their Bronze Award 2022. Our goal is to get people more aware of Geocaching, get people outside, teach people how to Geocache, and help Junior Girl Scouts earn their Geocacher Badge. This group of caches was created as a beginner course with various sizes and locations to give beginner Geocachers an opportunity to be successful and learn.
While this course is for anyone if you are a Junior Girl Scout by completing our course, reading the descriptions and completing steps in the description Girl Scout Juniors will earn their Geocacher Badge.

- DAVE ULMER HID THE FIRST GEOCACHE AND SWAG. IT INCLUDED A CAN OF BEANS AND A VHS VIDEO TAPE.
- SIGNAL THE FROG IS THE OFFICIAL GEOCACHING MASCOT, HE WAS CREATED AS A WAY TO REPRESENT THE COMBINATION OF TECHNOLOGY AND NATURE.
