Get the Dove over the Dove bridge to Doveridge
A wherigo is a virtual story or game. The geocache is not where the icon is - this is the start of the 'story'.
You need the special app to play it. When you have the app and have set it up properly (use your geocaching account details to login or to authorise your 'credentials'), click on this link to download the game cartridge - hopefully it will auto-open in your app. Make sure you keep an eye on battery life while playing - these things just eat up electricity! A top-up powerpack is a good idea.
This is a very simple game (barely a story) to take a poor injured dove home to his mum. Just follow the directions and keep looking on the map. You get the full story if you play this from the Uttoxeter side, but can also play the game from Doveridge (you skip several early stages), or from the north (just two stages). The point is really just to help you find the correct route to the north of the river as it's confusing on the map and poorly signed. But hey - you get a geocache out of it, yay!
