This is the first of 7 geocaches in a series that is designed to inform people about the history of Weathersfield, Vermont. Each site has some significance to the town. In each cache there is a letter of the alphabet. When you have found all 7 of the caches, arrange the letters that you found to spell a word that has to do with a part of Weathersfield history. This will be a person's last name who never actually lived in his namesake. Email the owner of this series and receive a small gift from the historical society for your efforts. We hopeyou have enjoyed a little bit about our town.
This geocache is located in the yard of a house that was built in the 1800s. You can find the exact date on the side of the house. Actually the part of the house that shows the date was the original building. The much bigger front part of the house was added some years later. This was built for one of the early minister of the church you see across the road. This is now the location of the Weathersfield Historical Society. The barn, the house, and forge will be open certain times during the summer. Please go to the website for times and dates.
