While camping at Centerville Flat Campground, I stumbled across this plaque out in the woods describing the old town of Centerville. To find the actual location of the cache, you must answer the following questions to get the correct coordinates. The physical cache is nearby but is located at:
N 38° 38.ABC W 119° 43.DEF
A 2nd digit of the smallest sawblede at Richardson's sawmill
B Number of sawblades at the sawmill
C Number of letters of the 2nd mentioned where fire destroyed the bucher's house
D The last digit of the year the plaque was dedicated
E Number of years the sawmill operated
F Subtract 3rd digit from the 4th digit in the E Clampus Vitus Snowshoe Thompson Chapter number
There is a pullout along the highway near the cache, but better yet, drive into the free campground, park near the old corrral, and stroll down one of the slight draws towards the plaque. You might want to also pick up the other cache hidden nearby or take the short trail down to the river.
