The WRGT is maintained by volunteers, including a volunteer bike patrol that also helps to maintain the trail by offering information and assistance to those using trail. Please do your part and CITO as you walk or bike your way along the trail.
Note: no motorized vehicles are aloowed on the trail ( other than snowmobiles during the winter months).
there are many bridges and sites to see along the way. Benches are located in various places along the trail for you to stop and take a break. For the the most part the trail is well shaded and aslo has a nice pavilion area at th Lampson rd staging area in Austinburg. Other parkings areas are located at west ave in Ashtabula, Woodman Ave in Ashtabula, Old Austinburg Rd in Saybrook, SR 307 in Austinburg, Eagleville Jefferson rd, Station st in Rock Creek and Penniman Rd in Orwell just south of US 322.
the 2022 edition of the WRGT Geotrial features approximately 150 geocaches, utilizing a varirty of cache types, containers, sizes, and D/T ratings. The geocaches have been published by se veral local geocachers collectively known as the " Western Reserve Geocachers".
In order to earn the geocoin you must complete the whole 26 miles of trail and write down 2 code words from each mile of the trail into the passport. Each mile hst at 3 or 4 code words. Words are located on the lids and or logs along with the mile number. Once you have completed the trail and have your 52 code words you can receive your coin from ACC&VB located at (GC2ZNZW).YOU MUST HAVE 52 WORDS TO RECEIVE COIN (First come first serve). see passports for more info.
