[FIN] Tämä kätkö esittelee toisen maailmansodan aikaisia linnoitteita. Samalla alueella oli ennen kätkö "The raiders of the Lost Ark" niminen kätkö.
Keskellä Haukilahden asuinaluetta sijaitsee Pitkäkallio, jonka laella on vuosikymmeniä rapistuneet sodan aikaiset rakennelmat. Rauniot ovat saaneet alkunsa luultavasti jo ensimmäisen maailman sodan aikana, jolloin alueelle rakennettiin linnoitus. Toisen maailmansodan aikana alue toimi ilmapuolustustarkoituksessa. 1970-luvulla kallioilla toimi jonkin aikaa seikkailupuisto Casablancana, jonka takia paikkaa kutsutaan myös nimellä Casablancan rauniot. Vaikuttava paikka siis, josta aukeaa myös hieno maisema korkean sijaintinsa vuoksi.
Espoon kaupunki kaavailee alueelle virkistysaluetta, joka saattaisi vaatia joidenkin rakennelmien poistoa, mutta ainakin toistaiseksi kätkö esittelee sotahistoriaa ja on paikka muutenkin kätkön arvoinen. Silloin tällöin alueella voi havaita laitapuolenkulkijoita, jolloin kannattaa olla varovainen ja tarvittaessa jättää kätkö etsimättä. Katsothan reittipisteet, joiden avulla pääset helpoiten lähestymään aluetta kulkematta yksityispihojen läpi.
EDIT 9.9.2023 : Espoon kaupunki poisti alueelta vaaralliset rakenteet ja siisti aluetta, mutta näyttavin osa sai jäädä sekä kätköpaikka säilyi.
[ENG] This cache presents fortifications from World War II.
In the middle of the residential area of Haukilahti there is Pitkäkallio where there are decades of dilapilated wartime structures. The ruins probably were build during the World War I when a fortress was built in the high spot. During World War II, the area was used for air defence. In the 1970:s an adventure park called Casablanca operated on the ruind for a while, which is why the place is also called the ruins of Casablanca. So, an impressive place, which also opens up a great view due to its high loistoon.
The city of Espoo is planning a recreation area for the area, which might require the removal of some structures, but at least for now the cache presents military history and the place is worth a cache anyway. Sometimes you can spot suspicious people there and in case you should be careful and if necessary leave the cache unsearched. Please take a look at the waypoints, which guids you to approach the area most easily without going through private yards.
EDIT 9.9.2023 : The city of Espoo removed the dangerous structures and cleaned the area to make it more pleasant, but the most spectacular part of the area and the hiding place remained.
