West Midlands 2022
Moist Caching
Look at the hump in the field. It's bronze age and used to dominate the horizon here until the trees grew up. Opened up by local Historian Frances Redfern in 1860, the theory is that it housed a cremation burial, as he found some bones, pottery (an urn and some Castorware), and some worked flints.
It's a scheduled monument so no poking!
For more in Frances Redfern why not visit the Redfern Cottage museum in Uttoxeter, and why not look on the Adventure Labs app for some history tours of the town?
