Geocache Description:

Naturi was a railway siding on the Browns Well railway line which opened in 1913.  Naturi was the first siding north east of Tailem Bend.

The name Naturi is an indigenous word for sandy soil.

A school opened in 1918 and closed in 1939.
School was originally held in a 15ft x 15ft transportable building.  In 1929 a hall was built which was also to be used for a school.
The transportable building was dismantled and re-erected at Kulde.

The Naturi Hall was built with funds raised from regular social events over several years.  These social events were held at local residences and included Euchre tournaments.
The hall was built at a cost of £408, the contractor being Mr. Downing, of Murray, Bridge. Local residents supplied water, stone, sand and lime.

The hall was opened on 23 January 1930 by Mr. McCallum, M.L.C. In the evening a dance and supper was held. The proceeds of the day amounted to nearly £54. Athletic sports were held during the afternoon.
