West Midlands 2022
Thomas, Alf, and John
Kingsley & Froghall Station is the southern terminus of the Churnett Valley Railway and houses a small museum, a café, and ticket all, selling tickets to all the other stations on the line. This geocache celebrates some of the childish fun of the railway, but requires you find some clues first. At the icon's location look for a bench dedicated to former volunteers Alf and John.
A multi-cache needs you to collect numeric clues to work out where the geocache really is. Work out the numbers from the info board, use the formula to get the final coordinates, and use your app's 'add waypoint' feature to plug the numbers in.
Look at Alf's dates:
A: The month Alf died
B: The final digit of the year when Alf died
C: The final digit of Alf's birth year minus the day when Alf died.
D: add together all the digits of the year John died
E: the decade John was born *single digit*
F: the millennium when John died *single digit *
The cache can be found at:
N 53° 1.(ABC)' W 1° 57.(DEF)'
The railway staff have been told about this geocache and hopefully the volunteers know about it too! If challenged just explain geocaching and that this was all agreed with staff for the Mega geocaching event Aug 2, 2022
