Geocache Description:

Welcome to Kentucky? Some 30 miles after crossing the Ohio River in Louisville. Um, okay, sure. If you are here at this Welcome Center, you have been in the state for more than a minute.

This is an easy multi to figure out bit the walk to the ifnal involves a descent into a wooded area with underbrush. Please be aware that you will have to bushwhack a little bit.

Please find the missing numbers in the following:

N38° 12.2AB' W85° 19.6CD'

Checksum for A + B + C + D = 13

At the posted coordinates, you will see the historical markter to the west and the painted horses to the east.

  • A is the last digit of the death year for the person on the marker.
  • B is the number of signs directly around the horses that have the word "CLIMB".

Take a short walk to the the east to the other side of the Welcome Center building. You will find two, large stones with plaques.

  • C is the the last digit of the listed year mentioned on the plaque where Elizabath Barrett Browning is referenced.
  • D is the the last digit of the year when 806 lives were lost on Kentucky highways.

Once you plug in the numbers, please proceed from there to the final, a short walk away.

The cache is a lock-and-lock container with log and room for small, trade items. As always, bring you own writing instrument.
