In de stad Groningen ligt in de buurt Corpus den Hoorn een mooi parkje aan de Henri Dunantlaan waar een interessant kunstwerk staat van de kunstenaar Frank Havermans. Graag laat ik jullie dit mooie parkje en bijzondere kunstwerk zien d.m.v. deze cache.
Het kunstwerk KAPKAR / CDH-2P2 PROATHOES is een kunstwerk geïnspireerd door ontmoetingen.
Op initiatief van bewoners in de Groninger wijk Corpus den Hoorn ontwierp kunstenaar Frank Havermans een bijzondere ontmoetingsplek annex kunstwerk langs de Hoornsedijk, tevens onderdeel van het Pieterpad. Om elkaar te ontmoeten, te praten en van het uitzicht te genieten.
Het kunstwerk annex ontmoetingsplaats biedt meerdere mogelijkheden, onderaan kunt u op de bankjes zitten; via de omhoogstekende schacht loop je naar het praathuisje waar je een prachtig uitzicht over het Noord-Willemskanaal achter de dijk heeft. Goed te zien is dat Havermans met zijn ‘praathuis’ verwijst naar de robuuste vormen en materialen in de scheepvaart, elementen die in de directe omgeving ook zijn terug te vinden. Zo heeft het kunstwerk iets weg van een stuurhut van de schepen in het Noord-Willemskanaal. Ook het materiaal van het kunstwerk heeft een stoere uitstraling die past bij de omgeving: het onderste deel is gemaakt van beton, het bovengelegen ‘praathuis’ is gemaakt van ruw staal.

The artwork annex meeting place offers several options, at the bottom you can sit on the benches; via the rising shaft you walk to the 'talking' house where you have a beautiful view over the Noord-Willemskanaal behind the dam. It is easy to see that with his 'talking house' Havermans refers to the robust shapes and materials in shipping and elements that can also be found in the immediate vicinity. For example, the artwork resembles a wheelhouse of the ships in the Noord-Willemskanaal. The material also has a sturdy appearance that fits in with the environment: the lower part is made of concrete, the upper 'talking house' is made of raw steel.
