Geocache Description:

Youndegin is a rural farming area with a interesting history.

In 1865, the murder of EJ Clarkson led to the building of the Youndegin Police Outpost manned by Constable Allerly. Later officers stationed at the outpost would establish an Inn, known as the Youndegin Arms and it also became a staging post of the Cobb and Co coaches.

Once the railway line came through Cunderdin it meant Youndegin was bypassed and no longer a viable location.

The cache can be found near the Police Outpost which still stands. About 100m to the East you can find Youndegin Well and a few hundred metres further on the corner of Kelkering Road are the remains of the local sheep dip.
