Anyone who watched TV during the 1960's probably remembers seeing Fess Parker in the TV series, Daniel Boone. He was betrayed as a larger-than-life frontiersman and in some ways his weekly episodes depicted the real life adventures of this American folk hero. Daniel Boone was instrumental in opening up the American West and although he made his home in Kentucky, he was born and spent his childhood here in Pennsylvania.
