What TheonPlusA Learned Series
Out first hide for our new series in the lovely town of Wellington. I started Geocaching about two years ago and was very eager to start contributing to the game. So with only 12 finds I went hiding some caches. This series will highlight some of these now archived caches and also explain what we think went wrong with this hide. Feel free to let us now in our log what you think.
Archived Cache: It was a treehouse GC8V5Q3
Location: S 33° 38.785 E 019° 00.906
So what went wrong?
First of all we hid a metal container not knowing this was not acceptable, but now it seems logical. We replaced it soon afterwards with a plastic container. The second problem was the location of the cache, not noticing the signs of muggles also using this tree for its shade. The municipilty cleaning the area every now and then also dit not help.
The new Cache.
To get to this cache you have two options. Waypoint one is a safe river crossing option but not advisable after big rains. Waypoint two is a stroll to the cache but not advisable during peak school hours, the little muggles might get suspicious. At GZ with the tree covering we had our GPS jumping around so please look at spoiler photo if it is not accurate.
We think this cache is much better with it not being a metal container and no signs of muggles hanging around at GZ. We also believe when the municipality cleans at GZ they will miss the cache.
